Shot 6

This took a little longer than I thought it would...

It's still a bit stiff in some places, but at least now you can see what I have so far :)

shot 3

Well how about this then :) I know you said to place the surprise look after the reflection, but it fit better to do it the other way around.

I don't know about the length. Storyboard time for this shot was very short... This is about 5 sec, but it can be shortened if you cut the blink. I like the blink though, for some reason

(seems that internet hates me today. I tried uploading it to youtube through 2 different browser and to blogger; neither works... I guess I'll try again tomorrow. Sorry guys!)

I'll just put a couple of versions up here :) ... the more I see that headturn, the less I like it

Last one is best I think

An extended version of happy birds.

.... I'm really at a complete loss with this. I tried changing the bird's expression for spotting the fish (narrowing the eyes, widening the eyes...) but I can't get it to work. Maybe I could try turning the birds head.

I ended up adding a short flash of the fish swimming (perhaps just a splashing sound works too) and just doing a short zoom on the eye to indicate that the bird has spotted the fish. The shot ended up being a bit longer than in the moving storyboard because I felt that we needed some more time to look at the bird with the fish breaking the shot in half. This would of course be solved by removing the fish...

Any ideas? What do you guys think of the fish?

shot 9: impale rough animation

I had some difficulties with the rough animation cause i had 2 different solutions for this shot in mind.

First idea was to add a moment of confusing to the bird. he hears one time a hit of a hammer goes in attentionpostion and after a short while he gets hit by the pale. Pros about this solution the solution is that the movements of the bird are getting more comprehensible and the connection between the first position and the end position( jesus position :D ) is plausible. The very very big contra point is, that we have to change the movstoryboard a bit AAAND I think we loosing a bit of this surprising effect. There is still a suprise but its signalized by the first hammer hit:

The second solution is the direct hit solution without any kind of prepairing moment. Pro we keep the moving storyboard timing and the surpising moment in its full strengh.
Contra: The movements are difficult to understand. (Why does the bird get in this end position ? )

I have here two different  versions. In the first i tryed to get the bird directly in the JesusPose in the second i try to solve the problem with a between pose. First he gets hit by the pale and after that life is leaving his body and he becomes rigid( fish fells out his beak)

Second solution here:

Now I need your advise :) please help! What should we do?

shot 5: rough animation v02

I also did something for shot 5:

After the bird hits the water surface i want that the shot runs in slowmotion, so i can add very much water details and have time to show how amazing the nature can be. So i think i have to slow this part more down and let the bird dont reach the fish exactly. This is also good cause, then we can use in the following scene more the surpricing moment after the bird turns his head to let the children the fish see.

What do you guys think?! over the shottiming?

Tomorrow I have to work at the shakespear festival so I cant react in the morning.

shot 2: rough animation

Okeee....After 5 attempts at uploading the scene it still doesn't work, help anyone...
I get an error saying after more then a ten minute wait that the video can't be uploaded, the scene is 132 mb.
The text below was what I was wondering about the scene(need the vid to know what I mean T.T):
(This is a really rough sketch of the second scene, mostly because I was contemplating if the bird needs to have a wider cirkel or not and when the bird ''lands'' if the timing is right with the beginning of the river, I think its better if the bird starts gliding right before the river expands, what do you think? Tomorrow I'll post the scene in its whole and with more inbetweens.)

Hey everyone!
First rough shot. I think there might be a little more time needed between the kingfisher landing and the fish jumping. Not sure though... any ideas?

 (updated with new version 2)

Okay, here's the vid with the 'restmoment', for comparison!

Anyhow, let me know if anything needs to be changed!
